Interstellar
My review of the film
Interstellar is an epic sci-fi film about the exploration of space. Sounds unrealistic? What if I told you that the film is based on real physics, and that new scientific discoveries were found during the making of this film!
The director, Christopher Nolan, said: "Why not make a sci-fi, that is souly based on real physics?". He invited the famous theoretical physician Kipp Thorn to help him with this.
The film visually amazing and storywise it's a masterpiece. Never in my life, have I experienced such situational irony in a film!
For the film, they had to create a black hole and a worm-hole. Normally, artists come up with a hole in space and that is how most people now it. Interstellar used physics to illustrate them. They entered the equations in a special 3d program, and let the special effects team convert them to real imagery. What came out, is truely mind-boggling (see the picture on the right).
If you haven't seen Interstellar yet, you are genuinely missing out on something! It's the best film I have seen yet.

An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
What I have to say about this movie
After having watched the newest The Great Gatsby film, I was curious how the proceeding films looked like. I found out that there were six different film adaptions of the acclaimed novel, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the first one dating back to 1926. Sadly this version is an example of a so called lost film, so I watched a few clips out of the 1949 version. It struck me how one scene in particular was very much like one scene in the 2013 version. I uploaded them below, so you can check it out by yourself!

Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.
Samba
What did I think of the experience?
When I was invited to go to this film, I was not really excited. A French film? Why would I ever want to watch that! When I stepped out of the cinema, I was blown away. The cinematography, character development and script were amazing. And it was not just the film that was amazing, the cinema was the most epicly designed cinema I have ever been to. The cinema is just a small part of the hallen though, there are alot of food stalls with delicious food and the people working there are very kind. If you have not yet been to the hallen, definitely visit the place.
